A useful top-up on identifying damp issues in properties with some excellent examples and delivered in a clear, interesting manner by an authoritative figure. Very helpful.

Many dampness issues are often specific circumstances to one particular property rather than generic to most properties and it is very interesting to see/hear specific real life examples that jog the thought process to look beyond what is immediately apparent. Great. Thank you again.

A great refresher for surveyors of all standards and different sectors. For my colleagues in social housing, the hottest topic of the moment and one which occupies the majority of our time at this time of year and particularly in the aftermath of recent high-profile media cases. Demonstrations and relatable examples should be bread and butter to surveyors operating in the domestic sector but it does no harm to be reminded. An interesting discussion around equipment and levels of expenditure which many organisations are investing heavily in also helps. It was good to see the honest approach to discussions around failed DPCs and rising damp and how not to be panicked into accepting an "expert" opinion advocating widespread destruction. For many years, bad decisions have been made which rather than resolving an issue have actually added to it with poorly specified and /or executed works.
