My family and I had an amazing time on the Evolution. My kids are 9 and 11. My wife and I were not sure if they would enjoy it but they loved it beyond words. Best trip we have ever taken. Everyone involved was amazing, from booking with Diane, to Bolo and Soto, the naturalist guides, to everyone else on the boat. Truly special experience.

We chose the evolution as we wanted a medium sized boat which was perfect for us. We loved the size of the boat and number of guests. The boat was updated and our room was a good size. I will say our room was noisy so perhaps inquire about that when booking (I believe some rooms are more noisy then others which I found out when talking to the other guests). However we still slept well and it would not preclude us from booking this ship again. The boat was slightly rocky at times (not always and not horrible) but if you are prone to sea sickness bring some anti nausea medication. Overall we very much liked the evolution as it was a good size for us and had a good amount of indoor and outdoor space.

Thank you for your comments on how much you enjoyed your yacht the Evolution. Many of our Guests tell us how much they love the yacht's ample common spaces due to her large size in combination with only carrying 32 guests, which also results in some of the largest suites and staterooms in the Galapagos. Because of her size the Evolution is very stable, and of course all vessels, including large ships, will move somewhat depending on sea conditions as well as when and where they are navigating in relation to ocean currents. Keep in mind that Galapagos waters tend to be very calm and one is either ashore or in protected waters during the day, so it is likely most of the movement you encountered was at night during crossings. The archipelago avoids compression swells found along continental shores as a result of its position 600 miles off the coast of South America, which is why yours is one of the rare comments one will read here about motion sickness while navigating in the Galapagos. In any case, for anyone prone to sea sickness, Dramamine and other similar medications often solve 99% of the problem whether on a large cruise ship or on a smaller yacht. Finally, regarding your comment on the noise, there are noises associated with all vessels such as when the engines start up, when anchors are weighed and there is always a constant ambient noise when a vessel is underway. We take such comments seriously and place effort and resources into sound reduction onboard, which is why issues with sound while on our cruises are also a rare occurrence. It was the trip of a lifetime for our family of four. The ship felt like our second home, the staff was warm and knowledgeable, and the excursions were beyond our expectations! Three days into our trip, we began planning when we could go again.

From the top to the bottom, the crew members were extremely courteous and helpful! Above all, the food service and the activity programs were wonderful and were very well ran.

The M/V Evolution tour--its crews and the amazing naturalists--far exceeded my expectations. You know you've had the trip of a lifetime when all you can do is think about returning. I would recommend this boat and its staff to anyone.
