“Love the look of these shoes, and the quality is good too. Let down by a couple of design challenges. Firstly these shoes do look as good in real life as they do in the photos - like your favourite new sneakers, you just want to get them on your feet and kick around!
Issue 1 - No heel gripping material. You really wouldn't want to race in the mud in these shoes as they just wouldn't stay on your feet if you had to run a section. Even with a casual walk, you can feel the back of the shoe slipping off your heel.
Issue 2 - No Boa. Not the end of the world and the ratchet mechanism actually feels smoother than Boa. But the twist backward release (as opposed to pop out) doesn't seem to release as nicely and you tend to have to wiggle your foot quite a lot to free the laces - this may be due to lace up design rather than the release mechanism but either way gets annoying when you can't just pop your foot out.
For the price - 4 stars for look and quality, 3 stars as a race shoe.”
