“Had to buy a new pair of shoes 3 days before a 100 mile MTB XC race when my last pair of shoes (not Quoc) broke.
Decided to go for Quoc as I didn’t have time to brake in new shoes and had heard good things.
I was dreading new shoes for such a long day in the saddle, but had no comfort issues what so ever, even with hike a bike sections.
Only small downside is that it’s quite difficult to dial in the toe box fit with one boa dial. It tightens at the top first and the toe box is quite roomy. I’ve had one boa dial shoes before and not had the same issue. I ended up having to physically pull the bottom and middle wires tight by hand and the adjust with the boa dial to get a comfortable fit. A small hack (that may be useful to others) and once done a perfect fit.
Personally I’d take the extra weight of a second boa dial to be able to get (and adjust) all day comfort for long days….but then maybe that’s the purpose of the lace option.
All in all I couldn’t believe how comfortable for no brake in period, and feel solid on climbs and techy descents.”
