“First Ride Review:
When I first put on the Quoc Gran Tourer II, I was impress with the toe box space as I generally struggle with the toe box space in most of the cycling shoes other than the MTB flats that I predominantly use for MTBiking. The dial lacing was pretty straight forward and a slight orientation of how best to making it work for the fit was quickly adapted as I do have multiple experience with the dial lacing shoes like those with BOA and ATOP.
During the first ride of about 20+km, The shoes were doing what is should be in the area or fit and pedal power transfer. I certainly like the little give on the outsole that ain't as stiff as those of High Performance Nature. It was supposed to be a gravel pavement joyride and it certainly delivers. I do have some issues with the fit during the ride and with some minor adjustment to the dial, it does work. The fact that my right is 1/5 the size smaller than my left, I do manage to feel comfortable on the ride.
I do want to talk about the outsole especially. I love it. Finally, an outsole that has proper grip on the rubber on the outsole rather than hard plastics or some PU material. I can literally walk properly without the worry of a slip on wet tiles flooring while collecting my coffee for a much-needed pick-me-up perk.
Overall, the first ride has been a pleasure as there are minimum hotspot issues, fit was great as it reminds me of a good pair of running shoes that to me provide one of the best comfort feels in all footwear.
As this is a first ride, I am looking forward to have a long term review of this pair of Gran Tourer II. It has certainly becoming my favourite Gravel shoes in my Gravel shoes collection.”
“Great looking shoe but also superb quality! I love the stiffness and the laceless system works perfectly. I’d say they run a tad small though. I’m usually a UK 10 for any shoe, but I’m having to go UK 11 for this. Worth it!”
