Gran Tourer - Black Gum EU47 Reviews

4.7 Rating 3 Reviews
Love them. Much more room in the toe box than my past cycling shoes. Definitely size up - I'm a 9/9.5 in US shoes usually. In other euro brands I'm a 43 normally, but I initially ordered a 43 in these and they were much too small. After watching the quoc video on sizing, my foot length put me between a 44 and 45 even. I then exchanged my 43 to a 44 and they fit great. Amazing customer service too. Excellent experience, I was stoked.

This 30% discount comes at the right time, I used my previous pair, Gran Tourer Lace, throughout the summer, a solo trip Brest-Finland, 4000km, a Transcontinental race Geraardsbergen-Thessaloniki #9, 3800km, with very difficult off-road passages, the partial return Thessaloniki-Brest, 1200km, the Transpyrenees race #3, 1950km, with also passages in the mountains that are very difficult to carry the bike. These shoes are great, I had no problems, they allowed me to ride, walk in town and in the mountains, and I even sometimes bivouacked without taking them off! Of course, after 12,000km in a few months they start to tire a little, especially the outsole, but they will still be useful to me this winter, and I am now planning a new pair for the TCRNo10 ! The only small remark perhaps, I found during intense efforts on steep climbs that the sole lacked a little bit of rigidity, I felt the point of support on the pedals. But nothing bad has stopped me from moving forward. These shoes are even elegant and comfortable enough to avoid bringing a pair of dress shoes for the evening!

These shoes are fantastic. If I had one bad thing to say about them is that they are not quite large enough. I ordered the 47 and I could use a few extra mm inside the shoe. They'll stretch over time. I quite like them and am looking forward to many years of wear and tear on them!
