The Vostok Europe YM86-640C697B is a striking timepiece that pays homage to the Atomic Age and Robert Oppenheimer's significant contributions to nuclear technology. This handcrafted watch from Lithuania is a limited edition, with only 3000 units available, each one numbered to highlight its exclusivity.
A standout feature of this watch is its distinctive techno-futuristic polygonal anatomic shape, inspired by the geometric precision associated with nuclear technology. The case is made from robust stainless steel, consisting of two metal parts that are expertly welded and secured with two strong rivets, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship.
This model is equipped with a versatile stainless steel bracelet, but it also comes with a leather and silicon strap, offering variety in style and comfort. The dial, characterized by a grain texture, features brushed and skeletonized hands, allowing a clear view of the intricate movement inside. It is powered by the S.Epson YM86 multifunction movement, which includes a perpetual calendar, a 24-hour chronograph, and an alarm, ensuring both precision and multifunctionality.
In homage to the Atomic Age, the watch utilizes tritium illumination for continuous visibility in all lighting conditions. The case back is beautifully decorated with a 3D image of the “Atomic Age collection” logo, resonating with the watch's historical significance. It boasts a size of Ø 48mm x 16.5mm and is water-resistant up to 200 meters, combining durability with style.
The Vostok Europe YM86-640C697B comes packaged in a versatile dry box, which can be transformed to store up to 4 watches, adding practicality to its appeal.
Overall, this watch is not just a timekeeping device but a piece of history, reflecting the spirit of the Atomic Age and the legacy of Robert Oppenheimer. Its unique design, functional capabilities, and superior craftsmanship make it a valuable addition to any watch enthusiast's collection.

The packaging for the Oppenheimer is first class. The red Vostock Europe case is quite sturdy and makes a nice presentation. Also impressive is that the Oppenheimer comes with three bracelets: silicon, leather and steel. I was a bit concerned when buying the watch about the 48mm case size. I shouldn't have worried; I have a seven inch wrist and the watch fits nicely and is comfortable to wear. The dial colors are very well done, but are also quite practical as they are coded to some of the watch's functions. Finally, the Epson YM86 quartz movement used by this watch is fantastically useful. It incorporates a perpetual calendar with date and day readouts. It also features a chronograph function and an alarm function. If I had one critique of the watch it is that the alarm is a bit too quiet. It might be effective ina quiet office, but don't expect to hear it in a noisy environment or expect it to wake you up. But thsi is a minor issue. A great strength of the watch is that all the buttons make sense. Many watches with several complications present button combinations to reach those functions that are simply arcane. The Oppenheimer's button system is simple and easy to master. And lastly are the T25 tritium tubes. You will be able to read this watch at any time of night with no problems. The illumination is great. Thank you Vostok Europe for creating such a masterful timepiece.
