“I have no idea why these are sold as separate add-on for cross bars. Maybe there is someone who likes to hear their open-ended crossbars whistling on the highway but I'd rather fork over the cash for the end caps. They lasted for about 15 years in the sun on my old truck so I can vouch for the durability of the material.”
