“I would give these a 5star if they would have kept the more heavy duty non-patterned cover strips that came on my old VW branded Thule racks but these new ones are nothing like the older ones. If I put one side of my canoe on and try sliding it over, the rubber moves and gets bunched up. I’ve have these for about a year now and they look worse than the non-patterned set did after 6years of use. This is actually our second set of patterned ones in 5years. One of the ones that came with the rack flew off on the highway. It just flew off?!?! That never happened with my non-patterned set. Unfortunately these are all Thule offers now. I’m sure some people know the older style. They were awesome, seemed to be made from a harder rubber as well. At least they aren’t much money.”
