“Very disappointing. Only weeks into initial use one of the hold down sliders stuck and would not stay in place. It was replaced by Yakima. Now two of the wheel strap holders have snapped off of the trays. They are poorly designed and far too fragile plastic. The upright support also doesn't inspire confidence. It creaks alarmingly while loaded and driving. The bikes move too much at higher speed.”

“I initially bought it because it was the only thing the store had in stock. It turns out that this rack is uniquely good for bikes with fenders, which both of my bikes have, as it clamps at the top tube instead of the wheels. On top of that, it's the cheapest receiver-mounted one I found. It has a few minor negatives. 1) The weight capacity (80 lbs, which is borderline if you have two bikes with fenders) is a bit low. 2) I had to buy an extra length hook, as one of my bikes is a quite tall Euro-style city bike. 3) It requires a supplementary anchor strap, so you need something on your car to anchor to. 4) The main arm from the hitch is quite long. Because of this, I rarely left the rack installed, as it projected too far behind the car. I recently solved the last problem; I had a machine shop shorten the hitch arm by 6 1/2", which was a very simple task. This optimized the rear overhang for my vehicle. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I've used Yakima products for 40 years, and this is just right for my needs.”
