Installed on a 2012 Kia Rondo using Thule bars. Makes lifting my Boreal Designs 13' Ookpik at 56 lbs very easy. Installing straps and front / rear tie downs at waist level is great and no more trying to reach up on the roof. Very secure on the highway even at current traffic speeds. Load and don't worry !!!

The Hullavator has allowed me to load and unload my kayak safely (for both me and my vehicle) without the aid of another individual. There is a bit of a learning curve in order to determine the best placement of the boat to ensure that it is securely tied down, but once this is determined it provides for a quick and easy way to load and unload the boat. There is a fair bit of wind wear on the tie down straps if there are any loose components and this shows as fraying in the edge of the straps. I've also found that the knob that fixes the position of the top arm of the kayak rack has a tendency to loosen up with time and does require periodic inspection to ensure that the gap between the arms hasn't widened. I suspect that this is due to vibration from the vehicle and is especially evident if, like me, you tend to leave the kayak on the roof for the entire summer. A locking clip on the knob, once the desired placement is achieved would easily remedy this situation. Though one of the more expensive rack systems, I love the Hullavator as it has allowed me to continue to use my boat even when solo and has therefore provided far greater usage of my kayak this season.

So convenient! As a single woman I love the independence this gives me on being able to easily load my kayak without having to seek help and saving my back from injury. I get a load of curious onlookers when I am using it that express delight in seeing what a "neat gadget" I have.

I LOVE my Hullavator! I bought one 4 years ago so I could load and unload my kayak by myself, and then bought a second one last year for my boyfriend. Being able to load the kayaks quickly and easily has made it easier to kayak more! I highly recommend it! It's well worth the cost!

Thule has the worse customer service. Still dealing with an issue after 4 months.. empty promises and still chasing..

This is a superbly engineered product. I am 68 years old and want to protect my shoulders from trying to raise and load overhead my 50 LB, 17' sea kayak! Well it is a breeze to side load, strap and heave the kayak over the top of the SUBI Forester. It is expensive and well worth my shoulder protection.
