Use it to carry 2 kayaks. works OK. A problem is its weight. It is heavy. The combination of the weight of the two kayaks plus the weight of the compass was over the 150LB. roof capacity of my vehicle. Something to be aware of.

Luv the rack, I get two up on the adventure wagon and I am good to go. It works well on my Scooby. My only concern is the cam lock straps slip a little, but I have extra straps so this is not much of a concern.

I debated for a long time buying a new demountable roof rack system or having a car dealer-installed system including new rails which my car didn’t have. Both were expensive but in the end I went with this full Thule system. The staff at Rack Attack helped me a lot with selecting the right products for my car and the service was super friendly and helpful. I’m very happy with the system I got, including the Compass Kayak Rack, which is perfect for carrying my two kayaks. I love being able to remove the full system when I’m not using it. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase a year later.

We love the rack and use it all summer long. It stays attached to our SUV roof for the season. the only thing that is more challenging for short people is that you have to climb and reach farther to strap on the kayaks in the centre of the roof than a J rack, which can be positioned more to the edge of a vehicle roof.

One of the wing nuts that tightens the upright bar broke. When you tighten it too tight the nut falls out. I hear this is a common thing
