“First thing about it was the design, so beautiful on my counter and when I ground my beans I was so happy to hear the lack of a loud overpowering grinder. This is the main reason for my buying the Baratza. I had done research for the quietest coffe grinder at a cost I could afford and this one kept popping up. After a few times to set the right grind for my liking, perfect! This was a bonus. I paid more than I ever had for a grinder but I now know it was worth it.”
“I do not think a grinder is all that hard of a concept to grasp or manufacture, so it does the job just fine. Even cheap grinders work well at the start. What will tell me whether it is truly worth the money is if it is still going strong in 8 years? 10? The one thing I have noticed is that the design of the plastic removable coffee cup is not as secure, tight as it should be bc every time I grind any beans and go to pull the plastic piece out with the coffee in it, there is always loose coffee at the bottom of the grinder, so some of the ground coffee is always missing the cup. I have tried again and again to see if there is something I am doing wrong that is preventing the cup and grinder to have a tight seal, but I have it as tight as it will get… Grind some beans and then slide the plastic cup out and tell me you don’t see plenty of ground coffee that has missed the cup.”
“This was a great grinder upgrade for us and would heartily recommend it as an entry level burr grinder or someone who wants to upgrade from a Capresso. It produces fantastic espresso and pour over grinds. We were also delighted by Ratio's prompt service and the fact that they were one of the few vendors who had an Encore in stock when we were looking!”
“After using a manual coffee grinder for many years, this is a much needed upgrade. The Baratza makes quick work of the coffee beans, the grind is uniform, and the design is a complement to our beautiful Ratio 8. The delivery was quick and the packaging minimal. Thank you!”
