“Hi, love the carafe and filter. Both are beautiful and enjoyable when working. Unfortunately after about the 3rd use I couldn’t get my Ratio 6 to brew with carafe on. After doing some research I discovered it was an issue with the magnet on the bottom. I can only brew with a fridge magnet sitting on base and then trying to put the carafe on top. Is there someone that could help me resolve this issue?”
“First off, my order was missing the Kone filter. The carafe came in dirty.
The sad thing is that a magnet is required to active the Ratio Six; however, the position is such that the water dispenser and carafe do not align, so the distribution of water over the grounds is not even.
Overall, I would not recommend, but thier magnet activation system requires such.”
“We were not a fan of the cone filter and much prefer the Chemex paper filters for better work flow. The issue with the carafe is that the magnet pad was adhered off center on the bottom of the carafe. And, the magnet placement has little margin for error when placing the carafe on the machine. If I center the carafe, the machine will not operate. I have to move the carafe off center so that the machine will recognize the presence of the carafe and operate properly. It took me several days to get this down. It works for me now, but no one else in the family seems to be able to get it to work. The Ratio Six has been a journey and I have purchased several items from you in order to get to where we hoped to land. I should have bought a Ratio Eight from the start. Now I’m in a bunch of money and it’s hit or miss some mornings to see if this thing will run. It even stopped several times in the middle of a brew cycle because the magnet must have had borderline placement. I seem to be able to get it to work most times now, but I’m the only one that can make coffee. If I’m gone, the wife is going out for coffee. I would note that with the original thermal carafe, the machine never once failed to start or malfunctioned.”
“I have to use the carafe by itself without the machine because the machine stopped working. +$400 and it just stopped working. Biggest purchase mistake I've ever made.”
