Ratio Four Coffee Machine Reviews

4.6 Rating 55 Reviews
The directions for getting the amount to grind and the size of grind were excellent. The precision of the brewing is very nice. I'm afraid my little espresso machine is not going to get much use any more. Congratulations on a fine product!

I love the compact size of the Ratio Four. We have a Ration Six but save that for family gatherings. On a typical morning, the Four is perfect for my wife and me. I really like the glass carafe and the fact that the water tank is a separate unit. Both make it much easier to clean and maintain.

60 days of making a great cup of coffee with the Ratio Four. Water to the 3 line. 26oz of beans ground at 15 on a Baratza Encore, and using a Kalita Wave glass dripper with Kalita filters. Others have reviewed the On switch placement. I will simply say that you get used to it and it becomes a non-factor after a couple weeks. Pros Best tasting cup of coffee from an "automatic" machine I've been able to produce For me, the tempurature is perfectly drinkable the moment the cycle finishes Ease of switching to other drippers Water container - easy to fill, easy to place Cons Because I switched to a different dripper, the front of the machine (including the power switch) gets covered in steam/moisture - which is then wiped down daily... maybe this is a Pro because it means that I keep my machine clean daily.

The best coffee maker I have ever used. I got the ratio, and a moccamaster at the same .the moccamaster got sent back it was nowhere in the ratio 4s league.

It is the perfect cup of coffee. One problem is that the carafe doesn’t keep the coffee warm. So for me one cup at a time. Ok

SO in love with this machine, brews wonderfully!! I will say the one thing to get used to is proper use of the bare "button". It is very easy to mistakenly activate a brew cycle while removing the basket. The button is in the exact location that your thumb would naturally be for leverage of the basket removal. It's a small thing but hopefully a consideration for the next version. The form factor and overall size is wonderful and pairs very well next to my fellow grinder. I particularly enjoy that I can place the water reservoir right on top!

I think that the coffee made from the Ration Four is good but I had to buy a cup warmer to keep the remaining coffee in the carafe warm. I would suggest adding a warning element under the carafe so an extra item does not have to be purchased to keep the coffee warm while waiting to pour a second cup.

Awesome little machine. Really well-built. Brews consistently, quickly. Other reviewers have mentioned the placement of the brew button as an issue, but I don’t have a problem with it. Easy to clean, no fuss, no frills - just simple coffee-making. I pull espresso a couple of mornings each week with a Cafelat Robot. When I want that intentional, slow ritual, I go to the Robot. But most mornings, I’m unfortunately hurried and don’t have time for anything but grinding 35g, pouring water to the “4” mark, and hitting “brew.” The Ratio 4 is perfect.
