“The Coffee does taste very nice with this machine. The on button can cause the machine to start when you don't want it to because it's right where you put your hand when removing or inserting the filter basket. If you want 4 cups of coffee but only 2 at a time because a 4 cup mug is very large by the time you pour your second serving the coffee is cold because there is no warmer. We end up serving all four cups at once in a very large mug to work around that, seems to work but somewhat cumbersome. The unit is quite expensive for the features it offers. We are happy with it but feel it could have been more competitively priced and would have been nice if it was manufactured in the US as well instead of China.”
“I really like this new coffee maker so far. It's the perfect size for my wife and I, and I like that I can also use my Hario V60 to brew a single cup when I want. The removable water reservoir is a brilliant touch and gives us the flexibility we need to put the machine where we need, and also to use the precise amount of water to get repeatable results without guesswork.
A couple of minor nits that prevent it from getting a full 5 stars:
(1) The buttons on the top of the machine are very sensitive and are easy to press accidentally when inserting or removing the filter basket. I've had to adapt my technique to prevent this from happening.
(2) The electrical plug is very loose where you insert it into the back of the machine. If the machine gets jostled or moved, it often becomes dislodged and the machine either won't start or stops brewing.
(3) While the machine nominally makes 4 cups of coffee, it really makes about 2 mugs, or roughly 650 ml. of coffee. Normally, that's perfect, but occasionally, I'd like a little more. It's no big deal and coffee brews quickly enough to make another batch, but be forewarned.
I got the kickstarter edition, so I don't know if subsequent production models are changed or have different features, but for the price, the Ratio Four is well worth it, despite the few minor issue mentioned above.”
“As an avid totally blind coffee drinker, I purchased a high end coffeemaker which, even for my best sighted buddy, was challenging to use without making a complete mess. After a Google search, I discovered the ratio Four. Knowing that a great cup of coffee starts with a clean pot and high temperature, the Ratio was the only option left for me. I was not disappointed because the coffee is not only the right temperature, but the flavor equals or surpasses any made by a coffeehouse barista. i know of no other coffeemaker that offers a 5 year warranty which also speaks to the high quality of this coffeemaker”
“Working well for me; I usually only make 12-16oz coffee for myself in the morning, so my options on machines are limitted for a push-button machine.
Coffee is great.
Machine seems solid.
It looks really nice.
Happy with it so far.”
“I love this machine. It’s the perfect size and makes an amazing cup of coffee. I have been using it with an origami dripper and it’s a workhorse. A++”
“I love how easy it is! It creates a great flavored coffee with less work than a normal pour over. I’d recommend the ratio 4 for any coffee lover, that wants a little easier, pour over system and only needs to make coffee for one to two people.”
