Not unhappy with refurb. Only slight cosmetic blemish on pot lid. A couple of complaints though, already common in reviews. Pot lid dribbles all over the place. Poorly designed. Also, the mass steam produced when brewing creates a wet mess all over that could be eliminated with some type of fin to disperse the steam away. I’ve also taken to capping my pot with the reservoir lid. It’s heavy and seals well enough. It’s also easily removed when pouring, eliminating dribbles. Honestly, the only reason I replaced my 20-year old SAECO maker was due to aesthetics. The Ratio 6 brew almost identical coffee.

I trust you guys! The refurb unit will stay in the box until needed. We are enjoying the new Ratio 6 and I have already reviewed. Having a shipping box will make it easier if any maintenance issues arise. Keep up the great work!!

Not sure what the difference is between Ratio 5 and 6 and now have one of each but these machines are excellent and I love them.

I can't say I would recommend this machine. It makes great coffee and I guess that is all that matters, but there are a few things that really bother me about the machine. 1) there are too many pieces and no where to put them when each piece is not in use. The lid to the thermos just kinda hangs around my kitchen until I need it, and I just kinda stopped using it because I hated finding it and putting it off and on 2) The thermos has a terrible pour, it is almost impossible to pour small amounts of coffee out of it because it is so bad. I would love to brew 2-4 cups with eh machine but when I do i can never pour it out. Overall the machine is good and makes good coffee, but I would get the glass carafe because it will save a lot of headaches. (To note, I do not won the glass carafe, yet - but plan on getting it, but I assume it would solve a lot of my grievances

The coffee tastes noticeably better than my Bonavita machine. Not sure why I waited so long to pick one of these up!

I'm happy with the Ratio Six (refurbished), which I purchased at a substantial discount. It appears to be in perfect shape. It took some experimentation and help from Ratio's customer service to zero in on the correct grind, but the result is a very smooth cup of coffee. I purchased the Ratio Six to replace an aging (but loved) Moccamaster, and I've found the brew quality at least as good as my old machine, with the benefit of not having to fiddle with brew switches on the basket. The RS is a bit noisier that the old machine, but not seriously so. One suggestion: the design of the entire RS is lovely, including the thermal carafe, but the pouring lip needs redesign. Right now, it's difficult to pour the last ounce or so from the carafe. But that's still not a deal breaker.
