“Bravo for making a machine so dedicated to the perfect cup of coffee. I commend you not only for its functionality in brewing excellent coffee but its beauty sitting on our counter. That being said there are a few issues. As an industrial designer I fully understand the limited resource available to such a specialized company and the compromises that result. The shallow spout, especially given the high pour over angle required by your cap sealing mechanized, makes it difficult to pour cleanly. The other is more important as it leads to hot water being splashed directly into my face when removing the carafe from the unit after brewing. The soft ring does an excellent job of holding the heat in the pour but I must guard with one hand to bock the splash as it rebounds after compression against the top of the unit while removing. I have a thought for a relatively simple solution. I also have a good understanding of how you would want to avoid unsolicited ideas but if you ever want to discuss this idea I would be happy to sign all waivers. I worry this issue might lead to some liability from unscrupulous customers. Thank you, Robert Fletcher”
“Pretty machine no doubt. But the temperature of the coffee once brewed is sub par at best. Even with preheating the carafe, which we do every morning with boiling water from our tea kettle, the coffee reads 178-180 degrees immediately once brewing is complete, far below the "just shy of 200 degrees" stated on their website as "typical". Customer service was responsive, but couldn't seem to believe me that the machine wasn't brewing the coffee hot enough, which is largely why I bought this machine as our older Krups (18+ years) started brewing barely-hot coffee. After a week of back and forth with the agent (during which time my 30 day return window expired), they told me I would have to go through the warranty process to see if anything was really wrong with my machine (AFTER asking me on our last call if I was remembering to put the lid on the coffee pot after removing the filter basket/heat shield after brewing.) Very disappointing customer service for a machine that clearly is NOT brewing hot coffee in accordance with their own statements of 'ideal temperature'.”

Sorry to hear about your experience! We do have lab test showing the final brewed temp of the coffee is about 195-198 degrees, but ultimately what matters is that your happy with the brewer. “Coffee maker itself is great but I have to rate the lid of the thermal carafe as poor. It spills coffee every time I pour, and I gave up using it since it is so annoying. I contacted immediately about the lid issue, but I have no response from help center and this review came up and I am writing this.
I really don’t know it is the issue of the lid I received or the design of it. If the design issue, then this has to be changed. It does not deserve the price of $350 coffee maker. I purchased Six for the thermal carafe to keep the coffee warm since I am the only coffee drinker at home, but I can’t use it because of the lid issue. Thank you for taking care of this problem.”
