“It is definitely a more streamlined cap on the new carafe; and there’s no drip after pouring. To be honest, I’m not certain that these two improvements alone are significant enough to justify buying a second carafe. I also made the decision to purchase it in order to have the extra carafe for dinner parties of 10+ guests!”

The series 2 keeps the coffee warmer longer while still not generating that 'burnt' taste of a glass carafe on a heating element.”
