“I think this is definitely better than the first version of this carafe. I'm very happy that I don't have to shake out water from the lid after washing anymore, and when I stop pouring, I know no more coffee is going to come out. However, the pouring still doesn't seem to be smooth. I only make half pots of coffee, and when I pour, I think the angle at which I have to pour to get coffee to flow outward causes the coffee to jump the inner lip of the carafe and it the top of the lid before it comes out. Some of the coffee will come out nicely on the spout of carafe, but the rest seems to hit the inside of the lid and splatter out without making contact with spout of the carafe. I imagine if I had a full pot and didn't have to tip it so much, the coffee would pour out nicely. I love all the other features of this carafe: it keeps the coffee hot for as long as I need it to be, the lid is much more streamlined, and aesthetically it's awesome. But in my week of experience with it so far, the pour is still haphazard. Maybe I just need to figure out the right touch.”
“The initial pour is a lot better than the old carafe and I love that it has a one piece lid.
I always felt that I would never really keep the old lid clean because you couldn't take it apart but liquid still was able to get in between the pieces.
The only issue I have is that when you're trying to get the last drops of coffee out of the carafe it tends to come out of the top where the lid is and not out of the spout. So it ends up pouring where your not expecting and making a big mess.”
