“Excellent coffeemaker! The bloom process doesn't quite seem long enough to me, but my brew has been consistently delicious, clean, and bright. Ratio is efficient, quiet, and makes an incredible cup of coffee. I pair it with a Baratza Encore and tend toward lighter roasts; I've been setting my grinder at 18 or 19 and grinding 72-73.5 grams for a full pot. The coffee tastes incredible. Highly recommended. “Great coffee, but its odd that you have to make it without the cover and need to cover it when the brewing is complete. It obviously cools off fairly quickly if you are not attentive. That said it brews a wonderful pot of coffee.”
“Mark, The machine is overall nice. I guess I'm kind of disappointed in the portafilter as it seems to drip coffee all over the place. Even when I hold the portafilter at a 45 degree to a 90 degree angle and then press down on the button to dispense, it still seems to drip and spill. Not sure If I should switch it out for another one or if I can order a replacement? Please advice.”
“The coffee brewing is excellent. I liked my BonaVita but this is a step up. Absolutely no harshness and a well rounded flavorful result. The thermal carafe retains heat at least twice as long as my prior BonaVita machine. I think the thermal ring insert on top of the filter basket helps a lot with limiting temperature loss. And remembering a hot water carafe rinse just before brew really helps. It does pour a bit drippy towards the end of the pot if you forget to tip the spout down before opening. If this has a long life, it will be a good value.”
