“I have been experimenting with coffee for years. I have had multiple coffee makers and pride myself on making thoughtful pour overs. This was a terrible user experience. It's cumbersome, occupies a lot of counter space, the bloom function is not optimal for all quantities of coffee, and the carafe pours terribly. I was really disappointed. I wanted to love it, but alas. I've returned the product.”
“The angle of the plug limits its configuration on the counter. Is it possible to get one that orients the other direction? Also, the machine seems to start brewing before I hit the start button.”
“My husband LOVES his Christmas gift. He said, "I don't like it. I love it. I really love it." So, that seems pretty great, as he is sort of a coffee nerd. Chatting online and on the phone with you folks prior to the purchase was pretty rad, too. I wanted to be sure we got this just right for him. We only have one issue: after several days of use with zero issues, yesterday the cone filter overflowed and water and grounds spilled out everywhere and we had to unplug mid-brew. Not sure what happened. Same beans and grind and amount (we use a scale to measure). We took this morning off and went back to our aeropress, but will try Ratio again tomorrow. Maybe a one-off? Anyway, great coffee, genius build, handsome design and people who were kind and thorough. Rare these days. :) Thank you for that.”
“Excellent batch brewer…. I’ve only had it in my kitchen for a couple week, and the few batches I’ve brewed, have been excellent in taste.
The overall appearance of the brewer is very good. If I’m picky, the fit + finish is perfect. The seems on some of the materials is a little rough in appearance, but that’s just me being picky for a “high end” home coffee brewer.
Function is what matters most, and the Ratio Six performs flawlessly (thus far), and paired with an excellent coffee grinder (flat burr, or conical), and fresh specialty coffee beans from a reputable roaster (ie. Heart, Onyx, Stumptown, Intelligentsia, Coava), your home coffee program will be second to none.
I would definitely purchase this brewer again, and give it high praise and confident endorsement. If you are looking to upgrade your coffee program at home, invest in a Ratio Six brewer.”
“Makes great coffee. It is pricey but when compared to other high end machines it’s reasonable. I do however wish it came with a full supply of ratio flat bottom filter, for over $300 I feel it should. If you choose to purchase standard flat bottom filters at the store you run the risk of overflow because they are shorter filters than what ration makes. Good machine altogether.”
