I love everything about my ratio with one exception, the thermal carafe. The carafe keeps coffee hot for a long time but the design includes a lip that forces you to turn the carafe completely upside down to empty the pot all of the way. There is definitely a technique you have to master in order to not spill coffee all over the counter. I am surprised that with all of the attention to detail that went into the design, that no one took a second to rethink the carafe. I am considering ordering the ratio 8 thermal carafe to see if it is less of a hassle. Ratio, please redesign your carafe! This coffee machine deserves a carafe that doesn’t waste its delicious coffee by missing the cup.

Hey Katelyn! We're definitely planning to engineer a change to that internal shelf that the lid seals against to make the pour as smooth as possible when there is less coffee in the carafe. If you simply tilt the carafe over before you open the pour carafe to let the coffee settle near the spout, it should be much improved. Thanks for letting us know your thoughts!

I love this coffee maker. It has “Apple”-like design and detail. Simple but brews a great pot of coffee every time. Worth every penny.

Definitely worth the wait.…..the Ratio Six seriously brews fantastic coffee! Love the simplicity of use, the quality & feel, the streamlined look of the Matte Black and most important the satisfying taste of an excellent cup of coffee. Winner in my book!

Hi - I have some feedback and some questions. First of all it's a beautiful machine and makes great coffee. But, the lid (with the pour spout) is terrible. Right out of the box a little black plastic thing popped off in the inside center of the lid. I replaced it but when you pour using the lid, coffee goes in my mug and everywhere else. Second, the sexy buttons on the front are beautiful but not practical when pushing the coffee maker back under the cabinet. Many times I have "accidentaly" started making coffee right before bed while prepping for morning. I wish there was a "cancel" button. I'd appreciate some feedback on the lid - it's basically useless and maybe needs to be replaced.

Hey Cori, Sorry to hear about the lid issue! We have a free replacement available: https://ratiocoffee.com/pages/ratio-six-thermal-carafe-lid-replacement We are emailing you this link to arrange a replacement. Apologies for the hassle! Regarding a cancel button, if you simply press and hold the start button for at least 3 seconds, it will serve as a cancel button.

I have had the Ratio Six for about a month and have used it in a variety of ways. I have brewed with as little as 500 grams (tried it twice with passable results) and routinely brew with 800 grams, 1 liter, and a full pot (1.3 liters). I get great results across those three larger formats. Brewing 800 grams, I get better results than I have with other brewers, such as Bonavita's Metropoltan and my friend's MoccaMaster. Because I am the only coffee drinker in my home, I don't always want a full pot, so the fact that this still does a good job at smaller batches is great. I have used this with the included setup and with a Chemex. The Chemex worked pretty well, but not well enough to be my go-to approach. It looks very nice on the countertop, too!

I had honestly never heard of Ratio. My wife was doing research on quality coffee but with ease of use. We love good coffee but don’t want to to go thru the hassle of the pour over style. She sent me the link for the Ratio Six. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth every penny? ABSOLUTELY. The Six is by far the best coffee maker I have ever used. Even using sub par, pre ground beans, the coffee is amazing, smooth, and the flavors are so much more pronounced. We don’t have to add tons of cream and sugar to make a great cup. Just brew and then a touch of sugar. I am a Ratio fan! So much so, that we just jumped on the bandwagon with their preferred grinder as well.
