“It makes good coffee, but:
1. The aluminum cap to the water container doesn’t seat very well; it just kinda lays there. Doesn’t lock in. Why?
2. You have to be very precise poring water in. Miss by a little and water comes shooting out.
3. The thermos jug lid doesn’t close shut. It’s either off or when it is ‘locked on’ it’s open to pour. There’s no sealed position, really?
It’s all kind of clunky to be honest. It lacks refinement in the details. For this price point, I expected everything to be perfect and although the machine makes nice coffee its kinda of a mess.”
“Coffee comes out great, temperature is perfect, taste also appears better on coffee I have used in the past when using this machine. But I cannot give it a full 5 stars.
My main issue is the pouring and how the lid always needs to be removed when pouring the coffee otherwise it easily spills and makes a mess. Not a big deal but overall changed my experience especially at this price point. If the pouring didn’t cause a spill each time, I would give it the full 5 stars.”
“I love the flavor of the coffee brewed in this machine. What I do not love, and drives me nuts, is the design of the carafe. Having that interior lip all the way around the top makes it impossible to get a clean pour, and get all the coffee out without turning the carafe upside down.”
“I think it is well made, good looking, and has clean lines. The coffee stays warm, the brew tastes better than other machines I have bought over 30 years.”
“I actually haven't used this new machine yet. It is a replacement of a previous Ratio Six machine (silver color). The silver finish was chipping off the machine making it look both cheap and damaged, so we ultimately decided to get another one.
Why get another one given some durability issues with the finish of the first one? It's only because the coffee this machine produces is consistently fantastic. It's as close -if not the same- to the pour-over coffee I used to make with the added benefit of keeping the coffee hot.
Hoping we don't experience the same finish-coming-off issue with this replacement machine. If we do, sadly this may be our last Ratio Siz purchase.”
