It’s super pretty and makes a really nice cup of coffee, too!

I use a number of coffee makers at home and at work, including exceptional brewers like the Behmor Brazen and Technivorm, but now having experienced the Ratio Eight, it is the new gold standard for brewing the perfect pot of coffee. The machine is built just as well as its super-fine looks, and operation is as simplistic as it gets. As an aside, I would be remiss not to mention after bad experiences pouring the carafes of both the Brazen and Techivorm where 1/4 of the pot drips outside the target mug being poured into, that it is so refreshing to have the hand blown glass pitcher of the Ratio Eight always hit the target. I will have to wait to see if its insulated carafe performs as well (as it is currently backordered), but the stock glass one gives me great hope and expectations it will impress. Superb!

hands down incredible design. somehow you all have created a sexy coffeemaker. with all the innovation i had read about over the past couple of years and the thinking behind it, i really expected to have an amazing cup of coffee by the end of the day. i made incredible coffee with my automatic chemex. i see absolutely no difference. if anything, its incredibly annoying to have my coffee get cold and use a microwave to heat up. i absolutely abhor that. i thought the chemex machine was annoying to have to remember to turn off and i know the reasoning is because it scorches the coffee. well, i can’t taste one bit a difference between my old chemex coffee that had a heating plate and now the new one. super super frustrating. now, on to the good stuff. i appreciate the sturdiness of it. it feels like a solid machine and love that there is no plastic parts. i also like the soft touch to turn on. overall, the machine is just so damn pretty that i can’t decide if that outweighs that i have to warm up my second cup of coffee.

Hey Kennan! We'd love to help discuss how to dial in the coffee for amazing flavor if you'd like to discuss? As far as heat retention, one of our Eight thermal carafes might due the trick here - it will extend your coffee drinking time to about 90 minutes. Let us know if you'd like to chat coffee or thermal carafe upgrade options (help@ratiocoffee.com). Thank you!
