“The problem I have with this coffee maker is that I like my coffee very hot and I find that the coffee is just not very hot at all. I don’t know how to solve this except put it in the microwave which defeats the whole idea of a great cup of coffee. I wish this problem were solved.
Even the ratio six brewed a hotter cup of coffee than the eight. This is my main problem!”

“It took just under four months from placing the order to delivery but it was worth the wait. Just be aware that if delivery timing is critical you may be disappointed. My delivery date was pushed back twice from what was originally quoted.
That said, the quality of the Ratio Eight lived up to expectations. Every inch of this machine is made with high quality materials and it’s a piece of art on the kitchen countertop. The coffee is top notch.”
“I am a bit ambivalent, writing this review. First, the good points: it’s a solid, well made machine, that looks great. The water tank markings do actually line up with the gram weight of water but do not line up with the amount I typically brew. The coffee that it produces is excellent; far superior to any other mechanically brewed coffee that I have had. Now the downsides: this was backordered with a clearly written policy that Ratio would keep me up to date. They didn’t. The delivery date came and went without a single word. I emailed and it took almost a week for a response, which is unacceptable, given they had been paid. It makes me wonder what I can expect if I need service in the future. Second, the outlet cord is very long and inflexible, making it difficult to plug in near an outlet. Ratio says the cord can be replaced but, surprisingly, doesn’t sell shorter cords, leaving the customer to search for a cord with the correct rating. Third, tank filling is quite easy but I wish the fill area was slightly slanted towards the tank as water collects here. Fourth, packets of minerals to add to distilled water are included but a sample of the Ratio descaler is not. With descaling recommended on a regular basis, to maintain the machine, I think Ratio is missing an opportunity here to introduce the customer to another of their products and also get the customer off to a great start. My last issue is probably not something that most people purchasing this would want - I would like a timer. While ideally I like fresh ground coffee, I have very early starts to my weekdays and I would like the option of setting up the night before (losing a little of that freshness) so that the coffee is ready for me.”

Regarding order communication, this is what we see:
• Order placed 7/13 - The website estimate said the machine would be built between 8/22 - 9/2.
• You reached out on 8/25, around the time we were updating timelines based on inbound parts and shipment timelines, and we responded on 8/29 saying it was now delayed until 9/30.
• Machine actually shipped on 9/16.
We could have been faster to respond to you, and for that we apologize; we will hopefully be quicker to respond to you in the future, and you always text or call 800.261.9640 in addition to our email address.
A few other points:
1. Cord length is something we hope to address with "off the shelf" cords that are approved to work with the voltage of the Eight and Six. The minimums to order custom cords are magnitudes higher than we'd need normally, which is a big hurdle to overcome.
2. We couldn't tilt this area due to the positioning of the glass tubes, unfortunately.
3. Our descaled has been out of stock for a long time while Urnex was formulating a new descaling solution for us. Apologies for the delay! It's now back in stock. We're sending you a complimentary bottle.
4. Yes, a big request we get! Not something we can easily do with our capacitive button that doesn't mechanically have an "on" position. This is something we'd love to resolve in the future.
