“We finally received it. It is everything you said it would be and more. While the coffee is important the esthetics are outstanding and as some have said it is a "work of Art" to be displayed. My wife was lamenting the fact the coffee table in our den did not have an electrical outlet.
I hope you are successful in your pursuit of the cork stopper as after watching your video again, the 8 really demands the cork vs the black rubber stopper. Please keep us updated on that front. I have one other thought, My wife thought you also had a great opportunity to think about Ratio Cups but I am sure you have already thought about that.

“Thanks to our Ratio, my wife and I now strongly prefer the pour-over method to all other types of coffee. “Now that I've used my Ratio for a while, I thought I'd share my impressions.
It's a great machine......very sculptural, great quality of construction, etc.
Compared with my standard Technivorm, the brew is smoother, and clearly less bitter (I didn't think I was brewing bitter coffee, but by comparison, yes). Depth of flavor is wonderful. Kind of reminds me of the difference between Starbuck's espresso and a shot pulled at home by an afficionado, on a premium machine, using outstanding beans.
I'm very happy with it overall.
My only criticism is that it's noisy (a minor issue), and doesn't have a thermos carafe (coming, I know).
All in all, the Ratio is a hit!

“in the coffee made with the Ratio 8. It even smells better when it's brewing. We are using our same stainless steel filter, and pouring boiling water through it gave us lots of sludge. No sludge at all now. I think it's due to the gentle sprinkling of the bloom phase, which allows the grains of ground coffee to swell enough not to get through the filter's holes. And the fact that the sprinkling is so gentle in the brew phase. It really is worth the money and the wait for it to be perfected.”
