“After buying my Ratio Eight a couple of years ago, I've experimented with the exact grind to use when brewing with it. I have a conical burr grinder from Breville. At last I've found the absolute perfect grind setting and have been enjoying the most delicious cups of coffee I've ever had. It is VERY important in the world of coffee brewing to attain the correct amount of water, water temperature and grind, all working with each other. The Ratio Eight brings out all of the flavors possible in each type of coffee with its automatic pour over extraction method. I look forward now to my cups of coffee in the morning more than with any other high end machine I've ever owned. Another important thing to do if you're using the paper filter is make sure it's rinsed very well. I have noticed a "grassy" taste at times when I've failed to totally rinse the paper first. I use the new metal carafe and always fill it with very hot tap water and let it stand for a minute or two before first brew to make sure the coffee is very hot. The Radio Eight is worth every penny and will probably pay for itself over the years if maintained with proper care. I have the all glass, wood and metal Cobalt maker. LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!!!”
