“We unwrapped the Ratio Eight and fired it up for an automated pour-over. Delighted to tell you that it worked just as you advertised! On the second try we adjusted the grinder from 32 (for our French Press) to the suggested setting 20 (Baratza Virtuoso) and had a superb cup of coffee with single origin beans from Ethiopia. This Ratio Eight is exactly what I had hoped for: Ease of use, pour-over quality, and stunning work of art. We use boiling water to pre-heat the glass carafe, the coffee cups, and wet the filter paper. Result is delicious hot gourmet coffee every time in just a few minutes. The plunging days of Es-Pro french press are over..long live Ratio Eight!”
“After waiting several weeks for my Ratio 8, I finally received it and used it this morning. The coffee is excellent- full bodied and clean BUT very disappointed with how quickly it cools. I made half a carafe and when I went for my second cup, it was too cool to drink. Price for this is too high to have to “hurry” - and I’m not spending an additional amount for a thermal carafe when I can just continue my manual pour over. Returning.”
“I wanted to love this machine more than I do. My husband is all complaints but while I love the look of my Ratio functionality is just not what I was hoping. The glass carafe just falls short and doesn’t keep our coffee at all. Since it also has a rubber bottom I can’t heat it on the stove or heat element like my Chemex. I wanted the thermal but black was not available so I thought I’d upgrade later but really wish I would have just waited. It’s really expensive for what you actually get because I love my coffee and need it to be hot without having to reheat it in the microwave.”
