Ratio Eight & Thermal Carafe Package Oyster / Walnut / Handblown Glass Reviews

4.7 Rating 3 Reviews
I have a chemex glass pour over coffee carafe that my mother used when I was young 50 years ago. It has always been my favorite coffee and always gets compliments from guests. The problem is making it just right when you are also entertaining. I have long looked for a machine that could truly match that coffee automatically, and I have found it. This machine was well worth the wait. It is just gorgeous in my kitchen. We were given choices that allowed us to practically make it look built in. In addition to being beautiful it is also constructed with superior materials that feel and weigh like smooth stone. The coffee is excellent, particularly when made with a chemex filter. There are zero residues or granules anywhere, and the flavor is never bitter, but smooth and true to the bean. I tried to post this on the web with a photo, not sure if it worked Thanks for making such a great machine. Amy Johnson

Beautiful craftsmanship, delicious coffee, a real timesaver! I love my manual pourover coffee but for the times when I need more than one cup I can trust this beauty to shine. Looks aside, it makes a delicious cup of coffee and makes it fun to dial in my coffee ratio. I passed on my Moccamaster to my stepson for this awesome piece of machinery that will last me for years to come!

The coffee pot is made well for sure and is a work of art, looks great. We are using the glass carafe until our ceramic filter holder arrives. The coffee comes out great but not hot enough, I am expecting the temp to be better when we brew directly into the insulated carafe. For some reason today it did not empty the water reservoir, a half inch of water remained in the bottom and it went to ready status. I fill to the top line each time and this is the only time this happened. Will try again tomorrow. As a note I pour the coffee into an insulated carafe as quickly as possible after brewing and the carafe is preheated with hot water. Have used the Ratio 8 ten times to date so I do not think it is in need of a descale. We have a water softener and a refrigerator filter.
