“While this carafe is attractive and keeps coffee warm for longer than the glass carafe, it is bottom-heavy, which makes it difficult to pour and takes some getting used to. In addition, to get a good pour, you have to take out the rubber stopper and you can't pour too fast or you'll have a mess on your hands. I give it a 3 out of 5 for the ergonomics, but a 4 out of 5 for style. If it were balanced better and had a bigger spout, it would be a killer Carafe.”
“Very nice design. Feels well-made. Cleans up easily. I like how easy the tops are to pop on and off. It can take a little getting used to pouring. Can be a little bit "splashy". Keeps coffee warm for over an hour. Works perfectly with Ratio 8 dripper. Ratio as a company stands behind its products. Their people are easy to contact and kindly answer any questions you may have. I recently order a replacement Ratio Eight Thermal Carafe (Matte Black). Order #31694
I have been using it for about a week since it arrived and it won’t keep the coffee hot (even when I preheat the carafe). My old one would keep the coffee very hot for a least 2 hours. My replacement that just arrived won’t even keep it hot for 30 minutes. I don’t know if there is a problem with the seal around the top or if it is another problem. This is an expensive replacement carafe and I want it to work the way my other one did. Thank you for your help.

“This is a review of my new R8 carafe. I requested a replacement R8 carafe after learning that the original had a magnet issue not allowing it to function with the Ratio Six, which it did not. The replacement is working for about 2 weeks now. The carafe is very nice looking and keeps coffee hot for about an hour or so. Not as long as the Ratio Six carafe, but I prefer the look of this carafe and prefer to use the Ratio Eight ceramic cone over the R6 basket. It is easy to clean along with the R8 cone. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because, although I love how the rubber lids function, pouring coffee from the carafe is messy / dribbly.”
