“Nice design and feels well built but doesn’t do a good job of keeping coffee hot. I haven’t measured it but even with the gray plug in it loses heat pretty quickly in the first 30 minutes. Not as fast as the glass carafe but definitely not what I was expecting.”
“I finally ordered the thermal carafe and dripper to replace my second cracked glass carafe. When I received it my impression was fairly positive. The packaging and outward appearance of everything is somewhat Apple-like. The carafe is very sleek looking and the dripper looks elegant. However, that’s where the most of the positives end. In actual use, the two-piece contraption is extremely heavy and cumbersome to use. At any moment you feel as if the ceramic dripper will come tumbling off and break. Ratio advises using a thumb to secure the dripper to the carafe when moving it which seems like a good idea in theory but my thumb ended up getting burned after the brewing of hot coffee because the dripper generates so much heat. I can say that the carafe did keep the coffee temperature warm for a long time…3 hours for me. Overall, I think the design stinks and there was no reason NOT to make it in one piece to emulate the existing glass carafe/dripper. Apparently it would have been too simple to have done that. Or is it that Ratio is more interested in making additional revenue on accessories that end up breaking very easily?? Also, you are unable to see how much coffee is left in the carafe as with the glass one. In retrospect, I regret buying the thermal carafe with separate dripper. At three times the cost I could have purchased a few more glass ones and made my coffee life a lot easier and simpler. And if I could return it I would!”
“We love the Ratio Eight Thermal Carafe. It looks fantastic and keeps the coffee warm for an extended period of time which is hugely beneficial for our family in the morning!”
“My granddaughter has the Ratio 8 brewer and loves it but until such time as I need another electric device, I purchased the carafe and dripper to enjoy pour overs. I preheat the carafe and dripper and ultimate mug with hot water but a little disappointed that brewed coffee in the carafe does not stay as "hot" as I anticipated. I typically brew about 4 cups (32oz). This does not mean I do not like it, but merely providing honest feedback to your request.”
