“Very beautiful and fits our v60 dripper. The ratio eight dripper is great as well. Keeps the coffee warm for a short amount of time, maybe an hour or so. When pouring near the end, the last cup, it becomes very hard to pour. I have to almost turn the carafe upside-down and this often results in splashing and spilling.”
“After we broke a couple of the bodum glass carafes I looked for a replacement that would hold up better. The Ratio Carafe succeeds in that regard. The construction is good and it seems durable. The insulation keeps coffee warm longer than the glass did. Aesthetically it looks good too. However there are drawbacks to the design. A caveat here, we use it for manual pour over, and some of these issues are specific to our use case. Some are not.
The ergonomics are poor, mainly because the carafe is fairly heavy, and the angled sides force you to tip it over at a high angle to empty it after the first cup or so. Usability is worse than the glass it replaced since you cannot see the amount of liquid in the container. You can premeasure, but that makes it less convenient than our previous solution. We have also had issues where the cermamic dripper causes coffee to run over the sides of the carafe while pouring. May be our filter/basket combo but a slight design change to the dripper to deepen the engagement boss would eliminate this possibility.
Overall I would say the product is acceptable, execution and looks are good. For the price though I expected better and as is it’s a poor pour solution.”
“carafe color (white) seems to be a different white (bright white) than my ratio 8 (off white). Also it arrived with the seal misaligned (under the chrome collar) and required me to fix before using. Not a huge deal but why? I'm more dissatisfied with the color mismatch if anything. Otherwise, the carafe works as expected.”
