“I bought this after I had my 8 for a while. I prefer Chemex filters and this setup is preferable to the glass carafe. The wet filter has a tendency to fall into the pouring spout hindering extraction. Chemex makes a clip for their carafes, but they don’t fit the 8 carafe. A bent drinking straw will fix it, but you still have to put the brew into a thermal carafe. Some caution is needed when handling the ceramic dripper with the carafe, but it works very well and keeps coffee hot for several hours if preheated. The dripper is dishwasher safe. I’m glad I made the switch.”
“The carafe and dripper are beautifully crafted. It’s heavy, stylish and easy to clean and there is no after-pour drip. It keeps coffee hot for about 45 minutes. Also great, is that you can use it with the Eight, as well as for a manual pour-over. I highly recommend the carafe and dripper.”
