“Haven't had chance to use yet, going away with it over coming weekend. Looking over it and opening looks great. Top zip very tight but expect that to loosen with use and time. Would recommend currently.”

“Build quality good, although the zip appears potentially fragile. The zip is small and difficult to open as there is nowhere specific to grab the bag whilst opening the zip, thus putting tension on the zip. I do not understand why a robust YKK zip was not used as per the other Red Original cooler bags. I have used the bag once so far. A hot day, say 25 degrees C, and ice retention, although only part filled, was about 7 hours. Yet to determine if it is value for money.”

Hi Paul, Thanks so much for your review. We have used an alternative type of waterproof zip on this backpack as we think it works better on this style of bag. The zips are still premium quality with a IPX7 waterproof rating and we have found them to be just as robust. After a bit more use once it has worn in slightly, and with use of lubricant you should find the zip will run more smoothly and be easier to open and close. “The backpack cooler bag was easy to find on the website. The buying process was straight forward and the product arrived quickly. It looks and feels great quality and I’m looking forward to trying it out at the weekend. It looks the perfect size for two peoples drinks and food if packed right. I’ll leave another review once I’ve used it a couple of times.”

“Absolutely love my new cooler backpack! Went for a hike to a hidden cove and kept our cans of g&t nice and cold! Easily fitted in sunblock, a book, and our microfibre towels. Space on the outside for our water bottles and other essentials too! Looks great and is super functional as well.”

“Managed to take this to the beach for the first time on the weekend and not only does it look great but having the ability to carry on your back to keep hands free for paddle boards and other beach essentials made this a dream to use. Lunch was the perfect temperature thanks to some slim cool blocks we purchased and no more sweaty sandwiches for us. Then used as a drinks cooler in the evening in the garden to save having to go inside all the time it ice on hand as well. Perfect!”
