“I've worked with Acros for years - it was the first BW film I started with in analog photography. I generally push it a couple of stops for added contrast and latitude with minimal increase in grain, but it's great at box speed. Just be sure to give it enough light. It's extremely fine-grained and detailed and its contrasty look isn't always ideal, but it has a firm place in my photography arsenal. It doesn't work well when stand-developed - the added grain kind of defeats the purpose of using it. Treat it well with HC-110, Ilfosol-3 or something similar and you'll be fine. Note to the home-developers, the anti-halation layer takes longer to remove than you'd expect, so fix for twice the time then wash until the water runs clear!”
