The Homebird packaging is made of the same fabric as the product inside so that you are able to see, touch and feel what the sheets are like. Percale is the sheet fabric of choice for many due to it's cool, crisp qualities. It sounds like you would feel more comfortable with sateen sheets, as they have a soft, buttery hand. From your note, it's unclear if the sheets and duvet cover have been used, however, we do allow returns up to 14 days on unused/unwashed products. If you are just over 14 days and the products have not been used/washed, our customer service department will be happy to work with you to find a solution.
