8 strand 100% premium nylon
High energy absorption
Description
Nylon Brait combines braiding technology with plaited rope optimizing the best of both rope styles. Nylon Brait’s most outstanding feature is its high energy absorption, which comes from a combination of the very long yam path and stranditure developed especially to maximize energy absorption. Nylon Brait can absorb (or mitigate) greater amounts of dynamic energy than 3-stranded or braided-rope structures with less damage. Brait’s energy absorption also keeps the corresponding loads on attachment points smaller since the rope does more work internally. Brait is easily spliced and the spliced rope delivers 100% of the rope’s advertised strength.

First of all, I love this line. It's great stuff. My only complaint is that the yellow trace thread is hard to find and sometimes dips into the middle of the yarn, making it invisible. This of course, is only a complaint if you hand splice 8-brait. If they doubled-up the trace thread it would be better. Otherwise 8-brait beats 3-strand hands down!

I love this rope. It's soft to the hand, but nubby enough to grip easily. It doesn't twist or hockle like 3-strand, and flakes well into a very compact, low volume pile. It has a good amount of stretch for handling repeated dynamic forces. Perfect for anchor line. Almost as easy to splice as 3-strand.

1/2in 8 Strand Yale Nylon Brait is the best Nylon anchor rode because it's least likely to tangle in the anchor locker, easy on the hands, with greatest elasticity for energy absorption. I bought from RightRope because their ropes were made in America with known quality. Their prices are competitive. Price is important to me. I learned the hard buying from unknown sources. Ropes are 'life lines'. Alex
