Taka's Blade - Black Reviews

3.8 Rating 21 Reviews
Roark's take on the venerable Japanese higonokami, this is a sleek, no-nonsense minimalist design Steel's a stainless Chinese version of the stuff used in Spydercos; a tough blade that came pretty sharp. The black box was a cool touch Like most knives with a liner lock design, it takes a bit of a knack to open. It's worth noting that I can still manage it one handed, with a partially paralyzed hand The belt clip makes it an excellent choice for EDC. I don't leave home without it!

Beyond cool that Roark's designed their own take on the venerable Japanese higonokami. It's a classic, simple construction, compared to a modern EDC but I've had Taka's Blade clipped to my belt for a few weeks now and it's proven to be every bit as handy as the trusty Spyderco I normally carry. I'd like to mention that in spite of a spinal cord injury, I can still open this knife with my weakened right hand. It's a bit stiff, but with a locking mechanism of this type it's perfectly normal and to be expected. All in all, a very very nice piece for the price!

Fell apart in a month, I only carried it for about a week straight.

Unfortunately, the Taka’s Blade arrived with a bent point and the overall quality was disappointing. Worse, the lock is not dependable and fails to lock on occasion making it dangerous to use.

I love this knife. Perfect for EDC. My only issue is the tip came bent. Not a deal breaker but I wish I got a new blade when I paid for it. I’d still buy another. I’m sure this one slipped through q/c.
