Halley Stevensons X Axeman Jacket - Dark Military Dark Military / S Reviews

4.5 Rating 10 Reviews
When Roark collaborates with another company the results are often spectacular. This iteration of the Axeman, featuring a waxed canvas exterior created by an iconic Scottish sailcloth company, is no exception. Perhaps my favorite coat ever! I've got a standard Axeman in a wool blend (reminds me of my beloved old peacoat- except better) but the Halley Stevensons' some next-level stuff. It feels a little tighter than Roark's usual sizing, but as a slight (5'9"/135lbs) guy, this really works for me It's a cold, rainy day today, and I've just come off the trail. Warm as toast, thanks to my new Axeman jacket!!

Fits perfect in the shoulders and chest. It's loose in the belly. I wish there was a way to tighten the bottom. For comparison I'm 6' 205 lbs athletic build. For now I wear a vest to compensate for the draft. Very warm, I have worn in 10 degrees Fahrenheit windchill -5 and was still comfortable. Materials are high quality. I currently wear Filson, Freenote cloth, Iron and Resin, and Pike Bros coats. Only my Pike Bros N1 is warmer. Good job Roark. For the next rendition add Hem adjusters and more color choices.

I only gave this jacket 3 stars because it does not repel water at all, one of the reasons I purchased it was because it was waxed canvas. The first time I wore it in a light rain it immediately soaked up every drop of water, very different from other similar waxed canvas products in have owned. Other than that it is a GREAT jacket that is well made, comfortable and warm. The clasps, the cuffs, the pockets and liner are very high quality.

This is my favorite jacket I’ve ever owned. It’s incredibly warm and fits me perfectly (size medium for everything). The magnet closure pockets are great including the newer cell front pocket. All the little details like zippers and snaps are heavy duty and clearly high quality materials. I wasn’t sure about making this purchase but I’m so glad I did. I expect this to be my go to cold weather coat for years. I have lots of Roark products, and this might be my favorite.

Love the coat. Well built, warm, interior pocket is nice. My only complaint would be the tiny hidden exterior pocket. It needs to be an inch wider to get your hand inside of it. Other than that it's an awesome coat.

This is a great jacket. Very warm for winters in Chicago. I work outside, so it is important to stay warm. I am 6' tall and I ordered an XL. This jacket fits well. I can wear layers under without being restricted in my movement. Usually when I get an XL, the sleeves end up being too long. But these sleeves are the right length.

Great, tough chore coat. I usually wear a Large, but this is a little smaller than typical sizing, so I’m in an XL (6’1 and 220). Arms are especially short. Size up one size unless you are very slight. Super warm with great handwarmer pockets. This will be a great buy for Chicago winters.

Jacket is warm, stylish, with great lined inlay in the pockets (like slipping your hands into mittens) : extremely comfy. Highly recommend! A versatile jacket that seems like it'll resist the elements. I received this jacket as a warranty replacement for another Jacket I had purchased a year ago : Roark made things right, and I am very happy with this replacement jacket. Buy confidently as this company offers excellent service and honors their warranties.
