AVOID!! Unreliable, Unorganised and frankly Rude. Giving one start as a result of taking three days off work for delivery, broken items and ultimately talking with an incredibly rude woman at Roseland with a superiority complex. If all of the above was fine, I would give 3 stars, as the replacement isn't worth the money.   I don’t normally review stores, but Roseland has ruined my week. I ordered a tall boy dresser on a Sunday for a three day delivery on the following Wednesday. I booked the Wednesday off from work to take delivery of this item and others from other stores. While at work on the Tuesday the currier DXP TXTed at 11:03 to say the item would be delivered that day between 13:00-15:00. I tried to contact them by phone and email but got nowhere. I left work and headed home for 13:00, which is an hour trip, with the view to return to work after the item was delivered. The time slot came and went. After 40 minuets of trying I finally reached DXP, needed to be transferred three times to talk to someone in shipping. Spoke to a Brummie woman who told me that the delivery time was just an estimate and it could arrive at 9 that night, there was no way of knowing as the trucks aren’t tracked. Felt like she was reading from a script and spoke very fast. Ending the monologue with “if these nothing else I can help you with I need to get on”. I explained I needed to return to work but had taken the following day off. This was met with an “and?. I thought my point was clear, never the less asked if it could be delivered tomorrow. I was told today’s ordered could be cancelled, but it may or may not turn up the following day. I asked if a Saturday would be possible, which she replied “do you want me to cancel this or not?”. The call was a total waste of time. The currier arrived late afternoon. After unboxing the item it was clear it was damaged. It was too late to call Roseland by then, so I emailed. I waited for a reply until WED afternoon, which never came so I called and spoke with someone called JOE. He was reasonable, and I excepted sometimes thing arrive broken. JOE explained a Saturday replacement wouldn’t be possible as they only deliver over weekends, not collect. I was told the item would need to be replaced on the Friday. He changed the currier for me as he explained Roseland’s alternative currier is more reliable. I explain I would endure lose of earning for 3 days for one item due to their systems and broken item. JOE told me to call at 9am on the Friday for a time slot for the currier. He didn’t understand my point that if I waited until 9am I wouldn’t arrive into work until after 10, and then may need to leave shortly after if my slot was in the early afternoon. My hands were tied and I knew then never to order from Roseland. Today is the Friday for delivery. I called Roseland at 9am as instructed and spoke with the snootiest woman called JANE. I was firmly told the delivery was an all day delivery and there would be no update until after 10:30am. The item wasn’t even on a truck yet and I had no idea how far away it was. When I re-explained the situation I was spoken down to by JANE and told their was nothing on the system and I was simply wrong. The item was always meant to be delivered on the Tuesday, and today was always going to be an all day event. I couldn’t get a word in. When I asked to speak with JOE or his manager, JANE told me JOE was on the phone and she was his manager - now knowing it’s a family business I suspect it was his mother or other relative. Was told the information I was giving her was all wrong and again it would be an all day sitting for delivery and collection of their shoddy item. JANE made no attempt to talk with JOE and check, or any help given to manage the situation. I was spoken down to as if Roseland are the crème de la crème and I should be honoured to be talking with them. This went on until I had enough and told JANE to stop talking over me and listen. I asked to know what she planed to do about the situation, and she told me in a patronising voice she wouldn’t know anything until after 10:30 and then we’re no notes on the system. I asked again, why I was told to call at 9am?! And why are there no notes seeing I spoke with JOE and had an email from BEN? She avoided the notes question, but said they normally get an update on time slots at 8am. So I asked why I was told Roseland knows nothing until 10:30, referring to JANE’S comments. JANE replied by saying, “I say again, I don’t know what you have been told before” not understanding she was the one who repeatedly told me 10:30!! We were getting nowhere, so I asked her to call the currier AND speak with JOE - so I would no longer be treated as a liar - and call me back with 30min with an update. 110 minuets passed, no call back and still no update. I called back, this time I spoke with LESLEY, completely different temperament. I explained the situation, she apologised and I was informed JOE’S instructions were not wrong, and JANE isn’t in fact, “technically” JOE’S manager at all. At 10:50 I was told I had a slot of 13:17-15:17 - meaning I could have gone into work - but there was another issue. Although JOE had booked the better, more reliable currier on Wednesday, this hadn’t been actioned. The item was once more being sent out by XPD, who apparently normally arrive an hour or so after the estimated time - no one seems to understand the purpose of the estimate.  LESLEY tells me it personally annoys her that the estimates are so far out and wishes they would give AM and PM slots, but due to the issues she will try and lock them in to a window. By now I’ve wasted my Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning chasing this order, to be told I may not arrive until 16:17. LESLEY explained she would call them personally within 30min, and if there were ANY indication the item would be delivered later than that, she would try and arrange a Saturday delivery. This worries me, as I know question if this is a possibility. I’ve lost 3 days pay, and not potentially losing my Saturday to Roseland. At 11:02 I received a TXT from XDP with my time slot. At 11:40 I still haven’t had a call back from LESLEY. LESLEY then calls back and tells me she has managed to talk to the currier, but the language has now changed. I’m told they aim to be with me between 13:17-15:17, but I’m reminded this is just an estimate, as I’m in Kent and it’s a Friday there may be a delay. I ask if I can head into work and get the Saturday delivery as discussed. I’m told the currier has promised that the driver will be with me, but if they are not, to call back before 16:45 as the team leaves at 5 and no one is on the system over a weekend. I point out I can not take another unpaid day and I’m told to have faith. Errrr, nothing about this is giving me any faith. Push the point, I will not wait in for another work day for them to collect the broken item. More excuses are made about this terrible currier. I point out this delivery/collection was meant to be carried out by the better currier. LESLEY tells me they are no better, and they are also problematic. So let’s get this right, Roseland has decided these two terrible curriers are they best for their business, courses massive and costly issues for customers, and when these an issue Roseland blames them? Shocking. I’m then given more information. Firstly the driver will demand I have stickers for the return item, but I haven’t been supplied any, and the driver should have them from Roseland, so be forceful. Secondly, it may not be one van, one may come for collection and another for delivery, not at the same time. So I’m not just replying on one terrible currier, but two?! LESLEY asks me again to have faith, as she’s sure it will be fine.  The replacement item was finally delivered over 90 minuets after the time slot and the workmanship is shoddy. The original items top was damaged in the front right corner > the replacement how ever has filler all over it where attempt have bee made to mend defects, but it hasn't been rubbed back down before painting leaving many bumps and imperfections. Worse areas are the top front left corner, running down the columns and to the back of the unit. The paintwork is patchy. I would send it back for a refund of £169 if I felt it would cost me more in time and wages.  At no time did I get a real apology for this mess, and no mention of a goodwill gesture. I’m freelance, work in central London and live in Kent, if I don’t attend work, I do t get paid. It would have been cheaper and easier to pay a carpenter to build a bespoke item from scratch than pay for the item and lose three days wages. It seems the team of unorganised, rude and unable to think outside of the box. They maybe able to play The Walton’s in a Cornwall barn, but most of us have real jobs we need to attend. I will stick with the West Elms, Tikamoons, Habitats and Ikeas in the future.

A nice looking piece of furniture which sits well in an alcove in my bedroom. Gotta be honest the drawers aren’t the biggest and one drawer is abit chipped inside but overall I’m happy with the product and fast delivery.
