Bellroy Melbourne Backpack Navy Reviews

3.6 Rating 5 Reviews
Like all Bellroy products this has quality and throughtfulness behind it, well for the most part. This bag won't take the full 18L and rarely stays latched closed. I carry a Microsoft Laptop, its a tad heavier than your average 15" and an ipad air, and this is pretty much the bags maximum carry, anything else in the main compartment pops open the magnets. Bellroy's response to seeking them out was "it's a lifestyle bag" and by that they mean, you'll have to deal with it constantly coming open! If it stayed shut it would be one of the best bags I have ever used - super comfy straps, good pockets, drink holder is appropriately sized, however I'd steer clear of this one from them - they just have not gotten it right if you want to take advantage of a full 18L.

Hi Mel! It's unfortunate to hear that the Bellroy 16" Melbourne Backpack 18L is not meeting your expectations. It's good to know that the backpack has quality and thoughtfulness put into it, but it seems like it falls short in terms of capacity and staying latched closed. It's understandable that it can be frustrating to have to deal with a constantly open bag, especially when you need to carry your laptop and other items securely. Bellroy's response of "it's a lifestyle bag" may not be satisfactory if you need a reliable and functional backpack for daily use. While the backpack has some great features, such as comfortable straps and well-designed pockets, it's important to have a bag that can meet your needs and keep your items safe. If the Bellroy 16" Melbourne Backpack 18L is not fulfilling these requirements, it may be worth considering other options that better suit your needs. Thank you for your feedback:) -John

Looks great, keeps my stuff well organized. I chose the backpack for its nice slim profile, wanting to move away from a previous bag that could fit heaps of stuff but just looked very bulky, so I knew I wouldn't be carrying as much. On a few occasions if I found myself with extra stuff, like throwing my jumper in the bag, it would pop open the magnetic closer up top. I've taken to just carrying a folded up tote bag with me for those occasions now. Not usually an issue, but something to be aware of if you think you might be filling it to capacity. Overall very happy with it!

It’s comfortable, slim and streamline for daily use. My biggest problem is that I don’t think it holds 18L because the flap can be easily dislodged if the bag is filled too high - I have to regularly check to make sure it hasn’t opened by accident when putting it on. I would recommend this product if you need less than 18L but if you want to fill it right up, get a bag with a full zip. That’s what I wish I had done, even after thoroughly researching between different bags on Rushfaster before purchasing.

Great backpack. Numerous compartments meaning contents stay organised. Like that drink bottle compartment expands into bag allowing for different sized bottles.
