“I have a 12oz (354ml) Yeti Rambler with Hotshot lid that wasn't keeping my morning coffee hot for long enough, so I though I'd try the MiiR.
The Yeti is dishwasher-safe and has the best drinking cap available. It's simple and can be completely disassembled so you can wash it properly. Or just stick it in the dishwasher.
The MiiR has a fiddly drink cap that works well, but feels like it might break at any moment. You cannot disassemble it, and it is near impossible to clean properly by hand. The top is apparently dishwasher-safe on the top shelf of the washer, but the flask is not. Seriously - we're living in the year of the Enlightened Fruitbat, and dishwasher-safe anodised thermos flasks are a reality. Companies that continue to produce products that have to be hand-washed are just plain lazy.
However, the MiiR keeps drinks hotter for a lot longer than the Yeti, so it wins in the area that really counts. After all, you probably buy a thermos to keep things hot or cold.
It may just be the fact that the Miir holds more, so the contents have a greater thermal mass, rather than the flask being better insulated - who knows, but my coffee is warm for much longer.
If you drink your hot drink within a couple of hours of making it, get the Yeti - it's better made, has a better cap, and is completely dishwasher safe. If you need your drink to stay hotter for longer, get the MiiR.”
