“The transfer coach from (near) the hotel worked well and those going on the ferry were dropped at the port pre-Immigration. Boarding the ferry was a bit slow due to the selling of coach tour tickets and we were some of the last to board the full ferry so the only available seats were all inside and restricted in numbers, and not too comfortable it has to be said, but the crossing was just 75 minutes. Those on the coach trip did not pass through Albania immigration and we left the dockside very soon after the ferry docked. The coach was comfortable, but no wifi, and the English speaking guide was excellent.
The day tour was well organised and interesting with the bonus of free time at certain stops, and a fairly limited choice but adequate free buffet lunch. Some of the stops we made did require a reasonable level of fitness and mobility as there was lots of uneven ground and steep, uneven steps to negotiate both up and down and occasionally without handrails.
The only downside to a very enjoyable day was the slow immigration process both outbound and inbound at Corfu port, the latter meaning many ferry passengers, including myself, had to queue outside for 20 minutes or so in the blazing sun on an exceptionally hot day, and then face another snaking queue inside to eventually reach the 2 open desks manned by unsmiling Immigration Officers. Then we had to wait for another 30 minutes for the final passengers for our transfer coach to emerge from Immigration. A shame this did put a bit of a damper on what was a great day out.”
“Great - The guide at the site in Butrint - excellent delivery and we were able to enjoy the sites well
Average - the ferry to Albania was good, but the ferry back was a rip off, completely different ferry, there was not enough seats for everyone, no air-condition as advertised and it took a longer route to get back
Poor - Lunch, the restaurant can do better.
Ferry to Butrint took off late, everyone with tickets should have boarded and then as we had over an hour, can decide if we want to do the additional visit to Butrint. So much time wasted collecting payment that the ferry took off late!
Also we were never brought to Ali Pasha's castle as advertised, only saw the Venetian Acropolis castle.
Overall a disappointment, only saving grace was the excellent guide”
“The collection at the hotel and drop off was right on time and great. The person who directed us which way to go at the port and through immigration was very helpful. The hydrofoil had no ventilation and many people including myself felt seasick or got sick. I have no idea why there is no fresh air or A/C .”
