“Amazing dense nugs, great yielder as well, medium feeder keep the ppms 150-200 lower than your heaviest feeders. Bud rot is possible with this one, foliar silica and calcium, wettable sulfur twice before flowering starts full blown, which is around day 28ish and keep the airflow high. Other than that this is top notch cannabis my testers were BLOWN away by taste, smell and effect.”

“I decided to learn about hydroponics and selected this strain for my first grow, mostly because I enjoy Gelato and I heard autoflowers stay conveniently small with a fast grow time. I went with a simple bubbler bucket system (DWC) of my own design using hydroton inside a 2'x2'x5' tent with a Mars Hydro TS 600 light on an 18/6 schedule and Fox Farms Cultivation Nation nutes. Everything else was, for the most part, shooting from the hip. My goal was 2-2.5oz.
On June 27th I germinated one seed out of the three I ordered, and it was a champion. The taproot pushed the seed out of its foam starter cube, so I packed it into a split rockwool cube and it kept on growing like nothing happened. I had a rocky start with veg, but that was mostly because I had no idea just how important pH was. So it went through about a week and a half of unbalanced water (around 6.7 or so) with some leaf discoloration until I figured out my problem (I thought it was light burn at first). Then it just went and kept on going. It's pretty leafy, but it can tolerate the occasional defoliation. Flowering came in around late September, much later than I expected, but by this time the plant had grown into a square like a Japanese watermelon, completely filling the 2x2 area. I ran out of height inside the tent, so I cut a circle in the bottom for the bucket and raised the tent about 1 foot. This turned out to be just enough throughout flower. I used low-stress training to keep the canopy at the same height and it produced lots of frosty colas. By the end of it, buds were getting so heavy that I was running into issues with broken branches, though stronger fans or more airflow could've fixed that problem early on. I ended up shoving half of a fishing rod into the net pot and hanging 10 yoyos off of it to support the colas. Flowering continued until I had to cut it down early on December 8th due to work out-of-state. Trichomes had just begun to turn amber at the time of harvest. Final plant height was around 30 inches or so with LST and keeping the light as close as I could without burning it.
I imagine it still had a week or two until it was totally ready. I've trimmed about half the harvest and so far have 3oz of good bud curing in jars. I tried to control lower growth the best I could without stunting the plant, but it just kept growing through flower and now I have a bunch of larf, which I plan on pressing with the trim for concentrates/edibles (when I learn how to do it). I haven't weighed the larf/trim, but there's quite a bit. All in all, my goal has increased from 2oz to 6oz of bud, larf/trim not included in final dry weight. The bud that's been curing the longest smokes great, even though it was taken down early.
tl;dr: First ever grow, went with DWC hydro. The seeds are great; they tolerate screw-ups and they take off when they're happy. "Small and fast auto" was not in the cards for this strain, at least for me. It got way bigger than I expected, and I had to make adjustments in the feeding schedule for the time it was taking. Even so, it far exceeded my expectations. Others have mentioned this strain is ideal for concentrates because of how frosty it is, and I can see why. The bud still smokes great. A little more of an active high than I was aiming for, but no complaints. More time before harvest or more time curing will fix that. My only hope is that the other two seeds are just as good. In the meantime, I think I'll be purchasing a bigger tent and investing in some trellis netting.
