“A purchased this mid summer 2018.
It has faired quite well.
We leave in Toronto, Canada. So the fabric is put away each winter and brought out again in spring. It is easy to put up and take down with a step stool.
The structure is left all winter and shows no signs of aging.
I had to do some rigging to install it in a corner.
There is no post base there and the post is fastened to the wall. The second half post base is on the post against the adjacent.
I have not put up the screens after the first couple years, as I rarely closed them; and this summer I only hung curtains on the south side to keep sun and driving rain out.
We get full sun here morning to mid afternoon.
Despite being a protected corner, we can get swirling winds and this awning has held up well.
I have noticed stretching in the roof cover over the years. I have added grommet drain holes over the years. I believe it came with 3, which was fine the first summer, but the 2nd summer the fabric was stretching and water was pooling in the spaces inbetween. So I add 2 more grommets at the end of that season. And 2 add more grommets at the end of last season so they are now between every rafter.
I shortened the elastic hooks this year to keep the roof fabric taunt. And also found it necessary to secure the fabric to the frame at the high, wall side.
I have never had an issues with leaks; but feel I should likely retreat for waterproofing the roof fabric at the end of this season.
I am very pleased with this purchase.
It extends my living space and enjoyment of the outdoors.”
