Garage-in-a-Box® 12 ft. x 16 ft. x 8 ft. Reviews

3.6 Rating 12 Reviews
I have owned my Garage in a Box since 2013. I needed to replace the canopy after being sun beaten for many years but chose a heavier canopy replacement. I've taken down and moved the garage 3 times over the years and it's gone back together and held up beautifully! I highly recommend this shelter and I am buying another one myself for a second car!

This would be better if there was a Heavy-Duty cover included with it.

I live in upstate NY and was very concerned about spending the money on this. I also live on 5 wooded acres and this concerned me as well, but I needed a storage solution to keep my tools, and UTV in during the winter months. We've had more than our share of ice this winter along with the normal snow fall. To help keep the snow off I went out and purchased a kerosene heater (23,000 BTU) and when we are expected to get snow I light it and it actually will keep the snow and ice from accumulating. It had snowed early in the season before I got the heater and this held 5 inches of heavy wet snow before I was able to get it raked off. Last night we had part of a tall pine tree fall, bounced off the house and then hit the shed. The shed had four damaged poles, and a small hole was punctured in the vinyl. I am telling you if you take some steps to keep the snow off, (and trees don't fall.. :) ) this is a good product. My plans are to replace the tubes that have been damaged and then in the spring I am going to place some panels on the roof to help reinforce this shed. I have emailed Shelter Logic for replacement parts, but have heard nothing, so the jury is still out on their customer service.

From the start this was a very annoying and frustrating process. First off the box looked like it was kicked down the street to my house. The only easy assembly was the framing of the garage. The front and back portions which are melted together and have channels for the tube frame left almost no room to slide the tubing through. We tried sliding smaller tubes through the opening to try to break it apart but that proved useless. We had to cut open sections and duct tape them shut in order to build the back and front. On top of that when you slide the sections onto the frame you already built there are no relief holes to get to the bolts to tighten or loosen them meaning once again you have to cut open the matierial. The last problem was the draw string used to tighten the back and front sections ripped through, so my garage is about 40% duct tape. Save yourself the time and money and look elsewhere, this is the last product I will ever purchase from shelterlogic. Poor quality product for the money spent, plus the shipping costs almost the same as this garage.
