“I just upgraded from my last shelter to a thicker tarp. As I was installing I was already noticing little holes in the trap from the factory. The entire frame was already constructed by the time the cover was opened and none left in the city to exchange. Very disappointing.”

“Purchased it Sept 2018 and last winter 2021 already started to tear in different places. The frame in great shape but not the cover itself. The warranty should be more than a year. I can see why its 12 mos because the company knows it doesnt lasts more than a year.”

If you live in an area that gets more sun exposure than most of the cover, along with exposure to other elements such as strong winds and snow (if applicable), it can also affect longevity. We do offer replacement cover kits in Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Ultra-Duty material. The heavier materials have longer warrantied and life expectancies which might better suit your needs. “Has been great until I noticed thin tears due to stretching along the top supports. Covering is simply pulled too tight. There's no adjustment that can be done as the covering has to be pulled tight by design to reach the sides of the shelter. Definitely will not be buying another one. 18 months on a 12 month warranty. I doubt it will survive the summer of 22. This houses power equipment and hay/feed.”

“It didn't last 2 winters - ripped right at the center meld. I make sure to clear the snow when it piles up. We had freezing ran with snow after - roughly 6 inches. When I went to clear off the buildup with a soft snowbrush , the roof ripped . This is not my first Shelterlogic garage; and the other covers lasted 4-5 years before failing.”

“Garbage material your product sucks on my 3rd cover turns to powder If you buy the best cover cost is unaffordable... rips all over but on the top the most almost all reviews concur on this 1 year then trash it if you sell it for 20 % less than you are getting a better deal just keep buying new covers except takes forever to remove and replace not easy and time consuming”

All our shelters include a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty, and if your cover tears within that period, we suggest filing a claim and having that reviewed and possibly replaced by the corresponding department. Also, there are (3) different grade of material being the 7.5 oz standard fabric, 14.5 oz Heavy-Duty, and 21.5 oz Ultra Duty material. The heavier grade has longer warrantied and life expectancies, which might better suit your needs. “Mine ripped down the middle after 2.5 years. Would not recommend anyone buy this shelter unless you are willing to replace cover every 2 or less years. Mine is sitting nestled between two houses and a bush in the back protected from wind and still ripped. Maybe these shelters are to be used inside a shop?”
