Garage-in-a-Box RoundTop® 12 ft. x 20 ft. x 8 ft. Reviews

2.1 Rating 63 Reviews
I bought this recently and put it up. The supplied anchors won't screw into the ground securely so I bought the pound in anchors, pounded them in and the driving rod will not pull back out. The pipe that runs through the bottom of the door doesn't lock together, it just slides together and they don't stay together, they slide apart and come apart inside of the door. The canvas doesn't fit tight as advertised no matter how tight you adjust it. The feet on the bottom of the posts don't sit flat on the ground. The roll up door kit provided needs improvement since you have to cut the canvas to install it. Doesn't come with anything to hold the door open with if you decide to not install the roll up door kit. Some of the mounting hardware was missing, had to buy extra bolts to replace them. Totally regretting buying this. Should have saved my money and put it towards a metal carport or built something out of wood. I had plans of buying a second one of these for my boat but at this point in time I'm looking to get rid of the one I just bought.

Hi Matt, We do hold very high quality standard and can assure you that this is not a common occurrence. The cover of your unit should definitely be able to be pulled taught on the frame. Please give us a call at 1-800-932-9344 to troubleshoot these issues and we will be more than happy to help. Thank you for your feedback , Customer Service

Bought direct figuring I would get the best price. I found the same shelter at another place which would have even $95.00 cheaper. I called and they would not match the price as they say.

The connection points of the frame are on the top and perpendicular to the side. I had significant snow load on the shelter, and the load bearing became in direct alignment with the frame connections and they all bent. I liked everything else about this shelter but itn is not able to withstand more than 12" of snow load considering at some point it will melt and become very heavy. Perhaps if the connection points would have been at 45 degrees to the load, or reinforced in some manner, the shelter should have been able to manage the load as it appeared to be very sturdy when I constructed it. I wish I had known about the load limitations as I would have bought the premium frame instead. Now I am back to needing a new shelter as the frame no longer has any integrity to handle even a minor amount of snow.

Hello Mr. Cooke, We are so sorry to see what has happened to your frame. As listed in your assembly manual we recommend immediately removing any accumulated snow or ice from the roof structure with a broom, mop or other soft-sided instrument. As you mentioned, we do offer frames that have a corresponding wind and snow rating associated with it. For more information as to which is the right shelter for you please give us a call at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you , Customer Service

I bought a few of these to keep some cars out of the sun, wind, snow and rain. The cover starts to rip after a year in Colorado. I won't buy them again.

I took about 6 days to put this up by myself. Each night, after work, I would put part of it together. Doing it by myself took more time but it can be done. One problem was that the bars attaching the sidewalls were short by two. The parts inventory said 8 but the photo of the assembly showed 10 were needed. Thankfully there were 2 extra bars that I could cut and drill to finish the garage. Have a lot of items inside and has ridden out two severe thunderstorms with hail.

2nd one bought within 2 yrs. 1st one entire garage. 2nd was replacement kit. I am so frustrated and discouraged on how fast they both ripped across the top. Neighbor has had a garage for 9 years from different company. Will pay price and get from there.
