“After our positive experience with a 12W x 25L x 12H shelter with ultra heavy duty PVC cover, we decided to get another one 10W x 20L x 10H, also with ultra heavy duty cover.
Instructions are generally pretty good, but procedurally they could be clearer. The manual included didn't address which part to use as a top brace for the middle section ribs, but we figured it out by counting up which braces we had the most of. Also, it would be nice to have a table identifying the dimensions of the bolts and nuts, since the instructions only show the part number, and not the size of the bolts to use.
Besides the extremely good durability we have experienced with our first shelter, which is now 5 years old and still looks great, the building stands up to severe winters here in Michigan and avalanches snow off the cover when it builds up to 4" or so. We have noticed no UV deterioration of the ultra heavy duty cover at all.
The only two improvements I'd like to see concern the standard anchors, and the roll up door kit. The 15" auger-style anchors are total junk. They don't penetrate anything but soft beach sand. They bend when the auger hits a rock, and are not worth your time. Use the anchors that hammer into the ground with the drive rod, they work.
And the roll-up door kit uses thin rope and plastic pulleys that bind up and damage the rope over time. Spring for 3/16" or 1/4" dacron rope and 2" steel pulleys and S-hooks on Amazon.”
Hello Rich,
We are very happy to see that you are enjoying both of your units and your Ultra-Duty covers. Our garages come with a basic “install†end
rib anchor kit to secure and square-up the frame during installation. More permanent anchors should be used but the type will vary depending on the type of shelter and surface type. We are always looking to improve our products and will be using this feedback proactively. Thank you for choosing Shelterlogic and fro taking the time to lave this review. , Customer Service
