“The heavy duty PVC is a much better quality cover than the original that came with the structure. Removing the old one was easy enough, but installing the new cover was a challenge. The problem I had was that the loops available to pass the bottom tubes through were not cut properly. When trying to align the front and back, I could never get the loops to sit correctly forcing me to take the bottom tubes off, cut the loops in a better location and reinstall the tubes. I would have expected this to be a simple install, but the miss cuts of the loops made it very frustrating and required rework.
Time will tell to see how this cover holds up.”

“This cover will last much longer than the standard cover the shelters come with. Those only last us about 2 years whereas these replacement covers have last 3 years so far and show no signs of wearing from the sun, rain and snow. (We've bought these in the past.) Ideally, these covers should be offered with the shelters as an upgrade from Canadian Tire, the vendor we purchased the shelters from. If you are going to use the shelters for a number of years, these are the covers to choose. They will be less expensive in the long run.”

“I've had a Model 90537 AutoShelter Round-top for 10 years now. (I've been a customer for longer than that). It's used for my vehicle and has worked out great. We (used to) order a replacement cover (Polyethylene 5.5 oz/Sandstone) when it needs it which USED TO be every 2-3 years. The last TWO replacement covers wore out MUCH faster than in previous years - like ~1 year which is sad given how much the cover costs. Purchasing so many replacement covers, we've made sure that the cover isn't too tight or it will quickly weaken the material. We had to start patching with gorilla clear tape the rips on the top due to the thinning of the material. Cheaper material used? Not sure. Yes, ShelterLogic notes a life expectancy of 1-3 years but I couldn't justify replacing it for that cost every year. Oh, we are on the coast of central ca.
After excellent back-and-forth communications with ShelterLogic Customer Service Rep about the issue and a need for a replacement cover, we went for the Heavy Duty PVC 14.5 oz/Gray with a 15/3 warranty. Yes, it costs a lot more but if you had to replace the cover every year for $291.23 a pop, then you'd consider a thicker and pricier cover also.
Anyway, so far so good. This cover is obviously so thick that we had to install the vent that was used on previous covers due to the major condensation that developed. We also leave an air gap in the front to help with overall circulation.
Pricey? Yes, Worth it? Jury is still out based on the last two thinner ones but we have high confidence that this will last.”
